Director
The Director has overall artistic control of the production
so it is his or hers choice where and what people do then. They also liaises
with the production manager do make sure they don’t go over budget.
Stage Manager (SM)
The SM has overall responsibility for the stage team and
ensuring that they are trained on all equipment and also ensuring that all
parts of the show comply with the health and safety policy. The SM also manages
the flow of information to the different departments of the show. Finally they
manage the budget for the stage management team and look after all the props
and set on the show.
Deputy Stage Manager (DSM)
The DSM’s has the job of running rehearsals daily. The DSM writes
a show report on every performance to highlight any issues with the show and
any cues that may of went wrong within the show.
· Assistant Stage Manager (ASM)
The ASM has a major role and responsibility for the props
and set on the show as this frees up the SM’s time so they can help trouble
shoot and run the show. The ASM also helps with auditions and preparation of
the rehearsal space.
· Sound Technician
The Sound Technician is responsible for recording all sound
effects for the show and also operates the sound during the run, keeping a high
quality of sound throughout the run of the show.
